Community Involvement

Excel Transportation Inc. plays an active role in our local community. Our focus is supporting children and our employees.

Annually, we sponsor a Prince George youth soccer team and donate flower baskets to the By Pass Adopt a Basket as part of our city's beautification initiative. Excel employees are also proud to sponsor a family through the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family program during the holiday season.

Supporting Causes

Excel Transportation takes many worthwhile causes to heart. During the 2015 season we had the privilege of participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Squeeze and Elks May Day Parade.

Green Initiatives

Excel Transportation takes the phrase "environmentally friendly" very seriously. We take steps to reduce our carbon footprint by:

  • Using tractors that are equipped with smaller engines with less horsepower than a standard tractor leading to better efficiencies and fuel savings of up to 8 per cent.
  • Governing the engines to prevent our tractors from going over 102 kilometers an hour which leads to better fuel economy.
  • Reducing idle time, Idling is a very wasteful and unsustainable activity
  • Re-treading tires which allows for up to 800,000 kilometers rather than just the normal 200,000.
  • The Tire Stewardship Program which recycles all used tires
  • Regular scheduled vehicle maintenance
  • Recycling used oil in our CSA approved oil furnace to heat our shop
  • Introducing wide based tires to the fleet for greater fuel efficiency, and lower maintenance costs.
  • Using Environmentally friendly parts cleaners in the shop
  • Disposing of used anti-freeze and filters by an approved depot.
  • Recycling all used and scrap steel and aluminum

Our administration team also recognizes their role in protecting the environment, by utilizing state-of-the-art technology, and using "green" business practices minimizing our impact on the environment. Our employees are committed to environmental sustainability and exercise waste reduction and recycling practices throughout the operation.
